The aim of this course is to present the standard cosmological model and a few selected topics of observational cosmology. The course is addressed to students from the "Laurea Magistrale" or to PhD students, but for the rest it has no special requirements (although students knowledgeable in Astronomy and General Relativity will find easier to follow the discussion). The course is split into two parts: the first (about 30 hours), though by me, covers standard cosmology; the second, though by Davide Maino, focuses on CMB and on the inflationary paradigm. A detailed list of topics covered can be found here. Slides 2 (Gravitational Lensing, from a PhD school) |
